Gary D Edwards, DVM

Dr. Gary, a native to Statesboro, Georgia, is our primary veterinarian and practice owner. He resides in Statesboro, Georgia with his wife, Dr. Debbie Edwards, and their daughter, Peyton with their 5 dogs, 5 cats, and chickens. He received his undergraduate degree in in Animal Health in 1996 and his DVM degree in 1999, both from The University of Georgia. He and Dr. Debbie opened Gateway Animal Hospital in June of 2002. After many years of building a successful practice, they decided to open a second office. Best Friends Animal Hospital, located on Brannen street, was opened in July of 2008. Dr. Debbie practices there full time with her associate veterinarian, Dr. Sheryl Sheppard.

Dr. Gary’s clinical interests include orthopedic surgery, artificial insemination and breeding, and avian and exotic medicine. He also enjoys gardening, golf, and sport shooting, but even more so, he enjoys the company of his family and friends. He is an active member of Pittman Park Methodist Church, member of the GVMA Advisory Board, and a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission of Bulloch County.
